Meet Callie
BisonHeartGroup was founded from a deep-seated passion for service and community, stemming from a career dedicated to the non-profit sector. The journey began right out of college, working as a supervisor at residential treatment facility for young females. There, I provided essential support through coping skills, therapy services, and tools for success, always driven by a belief in changing the world.
My subsequent role as a case manager and supervisor in child welfare reinforced my commitment to protecting the vulnerable. A defining experience involved removing children from an unsafe foster home, a moment that underscored the urgent need for vigilance and proactive measures in child welfare.
Transitioning out of child welfare in 2022, I began advocating for older adults, inspired by personal memories of my grandmothers. One grandmother, who left a lasting impression through her weathered hands, symbolized years of selfless care.
My other grandmother, now 93, shares her wisdom and stories, strengthening our bond. These experiences guided my advocacy work for older adults, just as my background in child welfare shaped my professional journey.
In my role as a development coordinator, I discovered the power of storytelling, the importance of cultivating relationships and connecting with the community. Through narratives, we highlight the meaningful work we do, engaging others on a personal levels. Over the past two years, I've thrived in a development roles, actively engaging with the community through networking events, speaking engagements, and advocacy efforts.
